AuroTrans Maritime Services (P) Ltd was incorporated on the 25th of November 1988.The company is headed by professionals who have decades of exposure in shipping internationally both on board foreign going vessels and ashore.

The company identified a need to provide professional, dedicated and focussed service to International Partners and Principals thereby serving customers better and offering a value added service.

AuroTrans Maritime Services (P) Ltd qualified to obtain a Regular Customs House Agents Licence (R282) and Shipping Agents Licence (S2/07/1996) at Chennai. AuroTrans Maritime Services (P) Ltd also has a Loss Assessors Licence (SLA 6772) and in the initial years was empanelled with all the Insurance Companies and Shipping Lines serving as Loss Assessors and Marine Surveyors. Over the years, this activity gradually faded away however, recovery claims with underwriters continue to be part of the service offered to the customers.

The Clearing and Forwarding wing of the Company soon blossomed and the Company specialised in project cargo and liquid cargo. With the sector of liquid and specialised cargo sector not having adequate organised support the company began focusing to offer a one stop service to customers.

The company soon tied with International Tank Container Principals and gradually started offering a sound and safe mode of transportation of liquids and gases both hazardous and non-hazardous cargo. This spread to food grade liquids and dry bulk cargo in tank containers. The company extensively educated shippers on the advantages of using tank containers as against other mode of carriage (like drums, barrels etc.,) and gradually started to gain the trust and confidence of both the customers and the principals.

This strategy of being performance driven with "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BEING OUR ONLY MISSION" established their presence. With Chennai Port, being a Deep water Container Port close to World Wide Main Sea Routes logically attracted large container vessels. Also with Chennai, having excellent road and rail connections to the flat hinterland further helped the company in offering their quality service to up country customers. This further confirmed the strategy of AuroTrans Maritime Services (P) Ltd offering a focussed quality service out of Chennai.
